SSL Belacan 荣获《槟城传统手艺》系列专题影片特别呈现

The series was officially launched at Whiteaways Arcade, officiated by YB Wong Hon Wai, Chairman of the Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee, and produced by Penang Global Tourism (PGT) in conjunction with the upcoming George Town Heritage Celebration on July 7, marking the city’s UNESCO World Heritage status. YB Wong described the series as “a tribute to the soul of our state”, highlighting that behind every traditional trade is a story of love, labour, and legacy. He encouraged the public to support these artisans by visiting their workshops, purchasing their products, and passing on their stories to the next generation. SSL Belacan is proud to represent Penang’s iconic shrimp paste craft — a bold and authentic flavour preserved by generations, now carried frward by the Sim family with the same passion and pride. Also featured are nine other heritage trades, including peanut candy, capal sandals, wooden clogs, flower garlands, nutmeg products, trishaw restoration, songkok-making, beaded Nyonya shoes, and wayang kulit.
